Wiss Auguste was born and raised in Jacmel, a gorgeous small town located on the southernmost coast of Haiti. At the age of 12, he began writing various acrostic love poems that were often inspired by French romantic songs. By the time he'd turned 17, Wiss had already won two poetry contests in his hometown.
His writing unfortunately hit a snag when he migrated to the United States at the age of 21. He was no-longer an idealistic teenager. He was a lost and displaced young adult struggling to learn English. Intellectual activities were put on the back burner as Wiss focused working odd jobs and getting his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
